Classes cancelled January 9

Unfortunately, due to renovations that are taking place at Oxford Brookes University Gibbs Building, all of the Weekly Madrasa’s classes have been cancelled for Sunday, January 9, 2011.

We hope to resume classes on Sunday, January 16. Please check back, or
sign up for email notifications, to receive further news next week as to the resumption of classes.

We apologise to our students for this delay, and look forward to seeing you the following week.

Weekly Madrasa Resumes This Sunday January 9 2011

The Oxford Weekly Madrasa Programme is pleased to announce the start of its autumn term on Sunday, January 9, 2011.

The weekly schedule will be as follows:

1. Arabic Beginners, Part II : 1:00-2:30pm

2. The Description & Character of the Prophet (The Perfect Paragon Muhammad, Shama’il): 3:00–4:30pm

3(a) The Essentials of Islam: Faith, Practice, & Spirituality: 5:00–6:30pm
3(b) Muslim Law & Practice (Fiqh), Hanafi — The laws and etiquettes of divorce and dissolution of the marriage: 5:00-6:00pm

* Shafi`i fiqh classes are provided simultaneously on-site by al-Salam Institute (see http://www.al-salam.co.uk/).

Shafi‘i fiqh with Sheikh Afifi cancelled for remainder of term

We regret to announce that the Shafi‘i fiqh classes with Sheikh ‘Afifi have been cancelled for the remainder of the term. Please check with the Salaam Institute after Ramadan for more information regarding the resumption of the classes.

We are pleased to announce that, in conjunction with Al-Salam Institute, Sheikh Afifi’s Shafi’i fiqh lessons will be resuming for the remainder of the term.

All students who regularly attend Sheikh Afifi’s teaching of “Reliance of the Traveller” from 5pm - 6pm are encouraged to return and benefit from the course. Please inform friends and colleagues who regularly attend.

Weekly Madrasa Vacation until April 25, 2010

The OTKF Weekly Madrasa is on spring vacation until Sunday, April 25, 2010. We wish all the students and teachers a restful and productive vacation.
